10FT SHIPPING CONTAINERS

Monday 6 August 2012 Filed in: General

This month we have been busy fabricating new 10ft containers to keep up with the increasing demand for this size. 10fts are very useful to fit into tight spaces where a standard 20ft container can't go, and of course many of our customers simply don't need the storage capacity of a 20ft. Our 10ft containers are sought after by a variety of customer groups from small businesses to schools, and sports associations to keen gardeners.

10ft containers are made in our own Containers Direct workshops, by slicing 20ft and 40ft used shipping containers into smaller 10ft units, and then constructing and welding the 'missing' pieces onto the new units to complete them. If you divide a 20ft container in to two, you will be left with one piece without an end, and the other without a door. This allows us the opportunity to construct three variations on the newly produced 10ft units, so our customers can select which is best for them.

Our S1 containers have brand new doors made for them. We use our experience of what we know works best for our customers using 10ft containers for school storage, garden tools and sports equipment to produce flat steel panelled doors, which are highly secure, but light enough for anybody to use on a regular basis without a struggle.

Our S2 containers are produced by using the front of the original container used for the cutting down. There is no need to make a new door, as the original door is still in tact at the front end. Shipping container doors are made from heavy, corrugated steel, so they are can be quite a burden for use on a regular basis, but they are the preferred choice for the building trade where struggling with heavy objects is clearly not an issue! Other customers like shipping container doors as they are rubber sealed all the way round for maximum resistance against water entry.

Our S3 doors work well by giving you the best features of both doors. We add a rubber seal around our S1 container doors, to combine the ease of using specially designed storage container doors with the best available doors for watertightness.

Whichever type of 10ft container you choose, you are guaranteed a great quality, reliable product lasting many years. The shipping containers we use to fabricate all our cut down containers are made from corten steel sides, frame and understructure, with thick marine ply flooring. Corten steel is the most advanced metal in anti corrosion technology, and marine ply is resistant to rotting and mould in damp conditions.
