The ModiBox® is a standardised portable site office that combines the renowned strength and security of steel shipping containers with a range of modifications to give you a comfortable and practical workspace, at a price significantly cheaper than that of traditional buildings. Its portability gives you flexibility and keeps your options open for relocation, and our range of sizes, from 10ft long up to 40ft long, makes them suitable for all locations from back gardens to industrial estates.
New build portable site offices
For a brand new portable site office, choose our new build ModiBox®. With the current shortage of shipping containers internationally, building shipping containers from scratch in our own workshops has helped us to get around this problem. With our in-house fabrication depot we are industry leading experts in new build containers. We are members of Make UK, a body who champion and celebrate British manufacturing and manufacturers. Our new portable site offices are built "from scratch" exclusively at Containers Direct, instead of upcycled from shipping containers. For our new builds we use tough 16 gauge corrugated steel to make each panel, and they are fully seam welding together for strong, watertight and dependable results. The floor is a steel chassis overlaid with ply. Our ModiBox® new builds are built to the standard shipping container sizes of 8ft wide and 8ft6in high, in a range of lengths, but they can be built wider, or taller, if required. 10ft widths are popular with new builds, giving a more spacious feel inside.To see an example of a new build portable office container: CLICK HERE :

Anti-vandal windows
Our windows are fitted with steel shutters, heavy duty shoot bolts and anti-vandal lip.
Non-slip vinyl flooring
Fitted with heavy duty 2mm vinyl flooring, which is stain and slip resistant.
Electrical installation
CE compliant electrics including plug sockets, strip lights and wall heater installed as standard.
Once-used portable site offices
Alongside our new build work, we are still busy converting once-used and used shipping containers, which includes the ModiBox®. Choose a once-used ModiBox® for maximum lifespan and optimal appearance of your portable office. Your once-used ModiBox® will be converted from a once-used shipping container that is "nearly new", as it will have only made one transportation trip from overseas to arrive in the UK. Compared to used shipping containers, which can be between 10 to 15 years old, the condition of a once-used condition is far superior. Signs of wear and tear are minimal and you can expect to get many years more problem-free use from it. We use either 20ft new shipping containers or 40ft new shipping containers, which we cut down to your required office length. Of course, if you need a 20ft or 40ft office then no cutting is required! All our cut down containers are made whole with 16mm gauge corrugated steel and fully seam welded to ensure watertightness.

For new offices on a tighter budget, or if your location has restricted access, then take a look at our range of self-assembly offices. Starting at just 2m and going up to 30ft, the smaller sizes are completely man portable, therefore great for gardens. Larger sizes require a crane delivery, but can be joined together, or stacked to create a number of configurations in terms of layout and size.Testimonials
