This conversion has been requested by ITV, to be used on-set of Emmerdale! It has been designed for catering and food storage on-set (yes, even soap stars must eat), therefore we have fitted a hygiene friendly, wipe clean melamine lining and a lino floor. Power sockets installed allow a refrigerator and other kitchen appliances to be plugged in.
CD Code CS27464
Our client requires a 14ft container, and as standard container doors are not required, we cut to size from a larger container and then construct a new end wall
Designed for easy pedestrian access, but also highly secure with a 10 point locking system! We fitted the personnel door into the front wall of the container, to open outwards.
First we cut the required size apertures into the container and weld the frames to hold the glazing. The windows are then fitted with anti vandal steel shutters, offering a high level of security.
Melamine is used as an alternative to ply wood in process of insulating containers. Lining and insulating provides warmth for containers that are used for working in, and the wipe clean surface of melamine makes it a popular choice for containers used in the catering and food preparation industry. For more on this process, see our page Melamine Lined Containers. For this job we lined the inside of the doors too.
After we completed work on the inside of the container, we fitted the electrical package - 2 x 5ft LED strip lights with diffusers, and 3 x double sockets.
After a complete repaint, the container is now ready to join the cast of Emmerdale!
Everything is carefully mapped out and approved by our client before we go ahead.
