ISO shipping containers are originally 20ft or 40ft long, the universal size for intermodal transport and shipping. But if you want the strength, security and low cost offered by a proper shipping container but in a different length, the good news is we specialise in modifying 40ft containers to any length. As a useful in between size, our 30ft shipping containers are one of the most popular sellers. We create 30fts by taking new or second hand 40fts and cutting them into two new containers - one 30 ft and one 10ft container. We always hold 30fts stock in store if you're in a hurry!
Not only does cutting down containers produce a wider choice of sizes, but also allows them to be refurbished or converted. 30ft used containers are a popular choice for use a basic storage container. Or we can add optional extras such as ply lining, repainting or windows and pedestrian doors for use as a workshop or office space. Alternative door types are easy fit on cut down containers - picture a whole metal box cut up into two pieces - only one will have the door remaining intact, so we fabricate a new door to complete second container produced.
Because we carry out a wide range of container modifications in our own workshops, we can offer 4 door types as standard on all of our containers for sale. S1 and S2 doors are the cheapest, but our premium quality S3 door type and the S4 roller shutter offer great value too. We can also fit doors in the side for easier access! The 30ft is also a common size for industrial style conversions such as biomass boiler houses or for housing heavy machinery, where vents, sliding roofs and more complex engineering work is required. For all other door types on our shipping containers, your container will be made using high quality production methods in our conversion workshop. New doors and end walls, to close-up the two container sections cut down from a 40ft shipping container, are made from high gauge steel to create tough corrugated panels. These are fully seam welded on for a high quality, leakproof join that completes both "new" containers.
