8ft shipping containers - a bespoke size for small loads
Looking for great value, small storage container? Our used 8ft shipping containers and new 8ft shipping containers are strong and secure and perfect for small spaces and little loads. Standard size metal shipping containers are either 20ft containers or 40ft long, so in order to produce any other length, we cut these larger boxes down to size. Our in-house production facilities mean that we can readily accommodate any request for lengths between 5ft and 39ft. 10ft containers, 15ft containers and 25ft containers are particularly popular choices but if you only have space for a 24ft or a 16ft we are able to provide any length you need, using either a new or used shipping container. Because we don't have to contract our work out, we can offer these containers at a competitive price you'll like.

Used 8ft shipping containers generally have over 10 years of service on shipping lines which results in considerable evidence of use, plenty of surface rust and knocks and dents. Containers Direct specialise in upcycling used shipping containers to give them new lease of life. The manufacturing process for a shipping container is very carbon intensive so the longer useful life we can give them, the better!
Once-Used Containers
New 8ft shipping containers, sometimes called once-used containers, are manufactured in factories in China and shipped to the UK with cargo inside. New containers are often the choice for projects where a longer lifespan is required.
The Build Process
Containers Direct build all 8 foot containers in their in-house fabrication depot and deliver nationwide using a network of hauliers. Fabrication of our 8ft units involves taking 40ft containers and cutting them down to size. We complete our cut down containers using corrugated high gauge steel. All component parts are then fully seam welded together to create 8ft storage containers! Our dedication to quality is why our 8ft containers are unrivalled in the container industry. For wider than the standard 8ft see extra wide containers, or the SlimLine® range for widths as narrow as 4ft. If 10ft is a not quite long enough, or maybe a bit too long, Containers Direct cut to any length.
