This conversion is based on our ModiBox® design, which provides a budget office unit for a wide range of applications. This example features popular optional extras and bespoke features added to make it perfect for its new role as a Forest School building. Wood cladding is added to many of ModiBox® conversions, not only for its superior visual quality, but as a requirement for planning permission for shipping containers sited in Greenfield areas, rural locations and places of natural beauty.

Forest schools and outdoor classrooms have taken off as a way for children to learn through play and exploration in nature. This has been reflected in the growing number of containers we have been asked to convert into offices and classrooms for suitable for this purpose and delivered to green locations. The office-classroom conversion featured here has upgrades from our basic portable office design, including bi-folding doors secured by a full-length roller shutter when not in use. Patio doors allow easy access between the outdoors and indoors for activities to be carried out in both spaces. On the opposite side we fitted a small hatch that can be used as a viewing panel. The flooring is hard-wearing and slip-resistant making it perfect for lots of muddy little welly boots coming in and out!
