15FT SIDE DOOR CONTAINERS SECOND HAND
Why chose side door containers?Side door containers give our clients the flexibility to site their container with the long side facing outwards, instead of the narrow end where the doors are usually located on shipping containers.
Our 15ft side door containers are made up in our own workshops by taking 40ft shipping containers and shearing them into 15ft lengths. After we have fitted on new end walls to make a complete four sided container again, we then have to construct a brand new door in the side of the container.
Using our experience of storage container design, and feedback from our clients we are able to offer a choice of two distinct types of side doors.
Please note cut down containers are not suitable for shipping, stacking or lifting when loaded. They can be modified upon request if these conditions are required.
S1 Side door containersS1 side doors are much easier to use than heavy shipping container doors and are constructed from lightweight, yet secure steel panels. We make them flat to decrease the bulk and weight, so they can be used by anyone without a struggle. The locking system is very secure -a steel arm lock, protected by a metal lockbox. Quality container padlocks then secure the lockbox.
Cost £1890 plus VAT
Compressed door sealsAn option for S1 doors - these are attached to the inside of the container door and compress to form a watertight seal when the door is closed.
Cost - £65 plus VAT
S3 Side door containersS3 side doors are a little more substantially built than S1 doors, with dual locking arms and the inclusion of a rubber seal around the outside of the door (as found on shipping container doors) to form a defence against water creeping into the container. Made from the same the lightweight steel panels as S1 container doors, they are still user friendly. These type of doors are our own unique design at Containers Direct.
Cost £2065 plus VAT
S4 Side door containersGalvanised steel, padlockable on both ends, 8ft wide roller shutter doors make a great alternative, or addition, to standard storage doors. They come in either manual or electrical options.
Cost of manual option £2360 plus VAT
(Please enquire for cost of electric option)
Extra doorsThese can be fitted in the opposite side of the container, or alternatively, on either end of the container. Choose from S1, S3 or S4 container door types. For end doors we can leave the original shipping container door in place (picture shows S2 doors, which are made from heavy corrugated steel and include a rubber seal).

TESTIMONIALWe recently supplied a 15ft container with an S1 door in the side for the London Wasps rugby union team. The 'team' was very impressed with both the container, and our service!
"Just wanted to say a big thank you for the fantastic service
Barlby Library and Community hub ordered a 15ft repainted container, and were very happy with the results!
"I am pleased with the container and somewhat relieved
- it is not as big as I expected and fits perfectly into one
parking space to the rear of the building.
The repainted colour helps to render it less 'visible' than
expected so it doesn't look intrusive.
Please pass on my thanks to the delivery man who was
very helpful in putting the container in the best place for
